We are done

Those living in great darkness have…adjusted their eyes. No longer even comprehensive to the word ‘Strive’, and are simply alive in terms of lungs breathing, heart beating but have given up the search and just compromise; their judgment clouded by their own lies  of comfort to the soul in which a world of sin is the new lifestyle thats ‘in’. And suddenly it’s alright to dwell in evil because “God is more than civil”…but Jesus didn’t die so we could settle for less than what He calls for, or be comfortable among this mess when He asks for a heart that is pure.

And how can we settle to be Christians that are so unlike their Christ but “saying a prayer once or twice a day should suffice”

And making the very thing that is living and active a double edged sword , just another book on the shelf; the very word of God that you once long adored.

And when we get too comfortable we may not have walked away but before we know it our very hearts have strayed

Then its time to glance in the mirror, take a step back and even if it hurts admit, fall, and say Lord it’s you that I lack!

cause if you’re farther from Him than you used to be, who moved?

His arms stretch out all day, but it’s His love which we abuse and always misuse Because Satan manages to convince us that if we’re so loved a little sin is no harm, but it’s the very reason Jesus hung by His arms.

But we are done applauding sin and letting the world win because He has ignited a light within and made us realize this worldly life belongs in the trash bin.

We have died. to being under Satan’s hand and we will stand and watch him tremble as the Lord’s army pierces the land.

We have defeated death, we rose with Christ, admitted into the book of life.

With two pieces of wood alone the carpenter built a bridge for us to walk amid this pool of pain for we have heaven to gain

We wont look back to what we lost because what we’ve gained came at Christ’s cost

And we wont put His Grace to waste because His precious blood was spared for a chance for us to run this race and meet the day when the ransomed wil walk into Zion, and joyfully stand with God face to face.

We walk the narrow road where very few will go, taking up our cross carrying the heavy load, but we will not stop until the Son arrives, quiet down or compromise, put up with satan;s lies or detour our eyes from the ultimate prize.

For Christ we aim to preach the truth we are His battling youth

something i wrote for writerscraft class

Time and time again

We keep trying to mend

And heal from what this world is telling us

Because we keep being fed

These lies that

Intrigue us, conceive us into these

beings that suddenly are no longer looking to ascend

So we try to detach, step back from this line because we can’t be on both ends

Walking the tight rope into the valley of the shadow of death

But we gotta keep fighting until there’s nothing left.

Because the truth is, you give up on yourself before he does

And it was his blood

Not ours

That’s was spared to show a love that is indescribable and true

Cause while we spit and whipped and drove those nails through his hands

He yelled out ‘ Father forgive them for they know not what they do’.

And his forgiveness is new every morning

So why and how can anything or anyone ever replace him

And it seems so silly to think we would even want something temporary when we have eternity to win

And yes there are rough times ahead, but for a moment think about what was said

Jesus was led TO be tempted

In other words it has to come because without struggles how would he have known that we meant it

Cause anyone can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ but we prove to be his true soldiers when we hold up the word as our sword.

Cause faith is only true when its all that you’re holding on to

And being a Christian is far from saying ‘im better than you’

It means I’m weak

And sometimes cant find the words to speak

Or I stumble and fall

And sometimes feel all too small

And just like you I feel the sting of pain

And the truth is we’re really quite the same

But the difference is that I’ve accepted this gift given by the Almighty Lamb that was slain

And when I walk through the storm I may sink at some point or another

But none of that matters because the Lord is my brother

And my friend unlike any other.

See you’ll find that setting your sights on the sky

Makes all these little trifles fly by

So stop telling God how big your mountains are, rather tell those mountains how big your God is

And stop with all this other business

That pulls you away and calls you to stray

Because all this is simply a mist that comes and goes

But a relationship with the Creator is something that sadly not everyone knows

Please lets not take this sacrifice for granted

And continuously live our lives for the One from which it was handed

remembering his Grace

When I profess my faith
I do not boast that life’s a simple stride
For in this Cry i know i need him by my side
That I stumble and fall
far too many times before i can stand tall
Yet he picks me up, brushes me off
Like a toddler learning to walk
Give mes my direction
and in his inspection
reveals every indiscretion
yet he offers his protection
all he asks is for us to stop making exceptions

Cause with every lie we try and justify the reason for why we keep falling short of the sky
And we lack the strength to deny and we begin to buy what this world is selling cause this sin is just to sly

And we’ve been through so many ways in this maze, getting lost in this haze for what seems like days, cause we forget what it means to have God’s grace.

For when we were still creatures of wrath Jesus died and showed us this great path. He called us his friends for his love knows no ends and attends and we learn to depend not on ourselves but on him who transcends

And when we need him most we become engrossed in his word, but when we feel strong enough to coast we begin to boast thinking ‘I deserve a toast’

But it’s by him alone that we come out of these ruts and he would rather have us occasionally limp than perpetually strut

For he who was God, who had every right to demand with a single nod, came to serve for each man, to preserve a relationship we do not deserve

Yet God’s love is that great, that by the second we have sinned, he has already forgiven our state.

So then let your gaze always be heaven bound, but never let your feet leave the ground.
